Jetes Music Website

Process

For this project, I was tasked with creating a website for rapper and singer/songwriter, Jetes. I wanted to design a reliable, yet engaging website which reflected his overall aesthetic (persona and music). Using the website creator tool, Weebly, and basic HTML/CSS coding, I was able to create a uniquely designed website for the music artist.
To gain inspiration for Jetes' website, I looked at other rapper's websites, such as Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, and Jay Z. I also browsed through Jetes' music repertoire, to gain a sense of his style, to incorporate it into the finished product.
 
The industry often uses a variation of black and white imagery with color collages for both images and print. Thus, I incorporated the style from the inspiration drawn from research, viewing Jetes' musical videos, and listening to his songs to create a website which reflected his overall style. His music consists of youthful self-reflection and is multidimensional in audience. His appearance is simple and casual and yet his music is layered with lyrics of deep meaning. I attempted to make a 'graffiti-'like" style which is also showcased in his various album cover's engaging illustrations.
 
I also added a 'Lyrics' page to his website, where viewers can click each song title to scroll through the words to Jetes' songs. I felt this was a necessary addition to the website, as his music revolves around the meaning behind the lyrics to his songs.
